Most history photo buffs already know about Shorpy.com, which is probably why I haven’t mentioned it until now. What some of you may not know, is that Shorpy.com was named after a child coal miner from Alabama, who is thought to have eventually perished in those mines at the young age of 31. For those of you that haven’t had the pleasure, be sure to check out the photograph collection. They post high resolution images, so you get to see them in great detail with just a click. Much easier than downloading a 40mb file from the Library of Congress!
